Justin Bieber has shown over the years that he has a pretty good sense of humor about himself as we have seen him go ‘coneing’ at fast food restaurants and poke fun at his natural ability to walk into every glass door on the planet, so when we heard that there was a possibility that he would be hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ we couldn’t help but think that this is the perfect platform for him.
During Alec Baldwin’s broadcast of his WNYC podcast ‘Here’s The Thing’ on Monday‘, The ’30 Rock’ actor revealed that Bieber has been confirmed as a host on ‘SNL’ and that he saw it with his own eyes. Baldwin revealed that while he was interviewing ‘SNL’ executive producer Lorne Michaels at his office his eyes fell on the list of confirmed hosts and saw that Bieber was on that list. Alec said;
“The biggest names in the business are coming here thirty-something years [after SNL’s debut] to host the show. Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy, [who] won the Emmy Award, and Katy Perry’s coming and Jimmy Fallon, who’s double-dipping on your payroll. Jonah Hill, and I don’t want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber’s confirmed, he’s the music and the [host].”
Lorne confirmed the line up by saying “yes” during the podcast, but at this time NBC has not released a statement about Baldwin’s leaked host list’. Bieber has been featured on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a musical guest in April of 2010 and has appeared in a few sketches, but he has never hosted the show before.
This will not be Bieber’s first acting gig as he has appeared in the film ‘Never say Never’, guest starred on the hit series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, and is rumored to be working with Mark Wahlberg in a basketball film this summer.
Do you think that Bieber will be a good host for ‘SNL’? Do you feel that the comedy on ‘SNL is a bit too adult for Justin? Leave us your thoughts.
