‘American Idol’ winner Kelly Clarkson is on the road with her ‘Stronger’ tour to promote her new album and she is making sure that each show she plays has a new unique element in it that is special for each city she performs in.
One of the ideas that Clarkson has been incorporating into her shows is to ask the audience for a song they would like to hear her cover and then she and the band perform it on the fly – something not many singers can really pull off, but Kelly does with perfection. Clarkson has already done an incredible cover of the Coldplay song ‘Fix You’ during her stop in Albany, New York as well as the Broadway tune ‘My Man’ from the show ‘Funny Girl’ when she played Radio City Music Hall.
Clarkson performed at the Wang Center in Boston last night and the song she decided to cover was ‘What about Love’ by the 80’s band Heart. What was really beautiful about her performance of this song is that at the beginning she stripped the music down to just a soft electric guitar so that her voice could really shine through. As the song went on the rest of the band joined in and kept the music fairly soft as they complimented her voice.
