‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: The Oliver – Slade tension heats up
At some point, you had to assume that it was coming on “Arrow” season 2: Oliver Queen is going to eventually figure out that Slade Wilson is still alive and in Starling City. So as for when that moment is going to come up, we now have an answer for you courtesy of a CW press release. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
The big revelation regarding Slade is going to come in early March with the fifteenth episode entitled “The Promise,” which could be the hour that focuses on both the past and present problems for Oliver when it comes to Manu Bennett’s character. Hopefully within here we will get a greater sense of Slade’s rage, and also what the Arrow plans to do in order to stop him. Take a look at the full synopsis below:
“Oliver (Stephen Amell) is shocked when he learns that Slade (Manu Bennett) has come to Starling City. Back on the island, as Oliver, Slade and Sara (Caity Lotz) prepare to take over the freighter from Ivo (guest star Dylan Neal), Sara pulls Oliver aside and tells him he needs to kill Ivo to prevent him from telling Slade what happened with Shado. Oliver feels immense guilt over the situation but realizes Slade’s growing rage from the Mirakuru makes him unpredictable and he could turn on his friends if he thinks Oliver is to blame. Oliver agrees to kill Ivo and the battle begins.”
What makes Slade a.k.a. Deathstroke quite possibly the show’s most compelling villain to date is that he is a man that Oliver feels a tremendous amount of guilt over. He helped to create him in a sense courtesy of the Mirakuru, and then there was also what happened to Shado. These are mistakes that he is trying to avoid now with Roy Harper; whether or not he is successful, however, remains to be seen.
