Mrs. Carter: Who doesn’t love to say “I do” alongside the fresh smell of crispy bacon?
That statement may be a little bit of a stretch, but there is something about this story that we have to share that is so out-there (but in a fun way) that we cannot help but share it. People Magazine today first published a tale of how “Big Brother 13” contestant Adam Poch, arguably the world’s foremost experiment (save for maybe Walter Jr. on “Breaking Bad”) in the popular breakfast food, is using his new-found power as an ordained minister in the name of all that is good and crispy.
The story that Adam shared to the magazine is pretty fun, and it involves how he ended up officiating a ceremony for a couple at the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival in Iowa after getting a request to do so:
“This couple, Tom and Tricia Watson, decided they wanted a bacon-themed wedding. So what better person than someone who had a bacon wedding to officiate a bacon wedding?”
“Brooks emailed me … and asked if I was ordained by chance. I said, ‘I will be in a few minutes.’ Next thing you know, I’m wearing a bacon robe and marrying people.”
Poch also told the magazine that he has officiated another wedding that came about as more of a “goof,” but it once again involved eating bacon beforehand … and also a little bit of beer.
Who knows? Maybe Adam could someday star in a TLC reality show where he shows up and throws extravagant bacon weddings for people. If that’s not enough, he could also have a spin-off grading his favorite appletini or talking about his Tori Spelling and the best episodes of “90210.” (Clearly there are a few things that stand out about Adam).
The new season of “Big Brother” premieres on CBS in likely late June / early July; meanwhile, “Big Brother Canada” returns to Slice on March 5, and you can read more about what is coming up there at the link here.
