It only seems appropriate that we are posting this edition of The CarterMatt Podcast during late-night, thanks largely to the fact that we are discussing a subject that has kept so many of us up late at night for an extremely long tonight: “The Tonight Show.” It’s an institution, and a series that is going through the revolving door yet again. Jay Leno is set to no longer be the host of the show, and in his stead moving forward, we have Jimmy Fallon.
So what do we think about these shifts, and the state of late-night in general? CarterMatt.com Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief Matt Carter sits down with his frequent podcast collaborator / One Buff Geek Jason Prager below to discuss. Jason’s a late-night fanatic, and you will see Matt and Jason share stories about watching shows growing up, favorite comics, and also whether or not they feel like Fallon will do a good job.
This conversation is a pretty free-wheeling one, even when you look at it alongside some of the others that have been done on the podcast over the past month or so, but it’s going to be a fun little trip down memory lane if you love late-night as much as we do.
Before you watch the video, there are a couple of things to take note of: There are spoilers about “Breaking Bad” pretty much throughout courtesy of an analogy that Jason makes, and there is also a brief technical glitch near the end. (Had a brief technical outage, and technology came back to bite us!)
