Mrs Carter Divorce is divorce – does it really matter who files?
Katy Perry hoped to avoid the uncomfortable divorce conversation with her uber religious parents by waiting for her husband Russell Brand to filed for divorce instead of her… at least that’s according to TMZ’s sources.
Despite their many attempts to cool out the rumors that their marriage was in serious trouble, Katy and Russell allegedly knew that things were rocky, but they wanted the opportunity to do whatever it took to try and make it work.
An insider said that Perry and Brand were both ready to divorce a few weeks back, but neither wanted to be in town when the papers were filed to try and avoid a bit of the media storm – hence the trips to Hawaii and London. Perry’s folks are both evangelical Christians and it is said that Katy did not want to be the one to file for divorce to “officially” end the marriage since she was raised to believe that divorce is wrong.
In the end if you are brought up to believe that divorce is wrong, then does it really matter who files since the divorce is happening anyway? Leave us your thoughts.
