Mrs. Carter: Who says being single is a downer? Not Charlize Theron!
Charlize Theron hasn’t been single since she was 19 years old, jumping from relationship to relationship, but since her split from Stuart Townsend in January 2010, the actress has stayed single and has been enjoying being on her own.
In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Theron admitted that after her back to back relationships, it was time for her to take a break from romance and focus some of that energy on herself. She said;
“I haven’t been single since [I was] like 19. I’ve been in two relationships. One was ten years, and one was three years. Just like back to back. When I talk about it, it’s not to get pity. It’s actually a nice experience for me because I haven’t experienced it… I’m really enjoying it. Not that I’m painting the town red and dancing and clubbing, but I’m really enjoying being in my own.”
Theron joked with Ellen that she recently went on a “tiny date” with someone, but because of her celebrity status she had to enjoy the coffee date inside a house. She said;
“You have to do it at somebody’s house, because then somebody is going to see you for coffee with somebody. [When you’re famous] it’s not casual dating anymore. Then you can’t suss the guy out anymore. You’re married and having a child. It’s done.”
The ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ actress did not dish on who she had a coffee with – feel free to jump in and leave a comment on who you think her mystery date was.
