Mrs. Carter: Emily Maynard is happy to be a bachelorette no more!
Just under two years after filming her edition of “The Bachelorette,” the news was revealed that Emily and her new boyfriend Tyler Johnson became engaged. It as a pretty interesting situation here for Emily, mostly because we are not talking about a man here that just entered her life after she went through her appearances on the show. Rather, Tyler was a guy that she met during church long before going on TV, they slowly built a friendship that became so much more.
What makes this situation different than her past two engagements to Brad Womack and Jef Holm? The biggest thing for her is that, as she tells “Good Morning America” this week, there is already a solid foundation there. This is a guy who already knows her life in North Carolina, and is not going to disrupt anything by suddenly being involved in it. That is completely different then some of the other people that she has been with. She and Brad never even lived in the same part of the country, and while Jef tried to root himself more in North Carolina, there were tabloid rumors about trouble in their relationship not long after that. Johnson proposed to both Emily and her daughter Ricki (so cute!) not long after the new year, with making the extra effort to ensure that they were both a part of it.
Emily also told “GMA” in the video here that she is rooting for Juan Pablo Galavis to find love this season, but joked that she is “not the one to ask” about if she thinks the right person is there for him. Honestly at this point, it’s hard to tell even from a viewer’s point of view. There’s nobody that he has that sort of crazy connection with where in past seasons of the franchise it was easy to see who the front runners were early on.
