‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 14 video: Barney’s slap defense

In just a few short days now, the moment that so many people have been waiting for will finally be here: The glorious conclusion to the “How I Met Your Mother” slap bet. It has been so anticipated that the show has created an entire episode that will be focused all around seeing it play out. “Slapsgiving 3” is almost here … and a preview video that we have for you below suggests that Marshall has been training for it like it is one of the most important things that he will ever do in his entire life.

Jason Segel’s character is quick to inform Barney that this is a slap that he wants to be extremely painful, and you would think that this, in turn, would be enough to make Barney cringe. Luckily, Barney does have a pretty good poker face. He responds by saying that he has become numb to the very thing that Marshall wants, and it will not bother him at all to be a victim of another good slap in the face. (He also says something that is very Barney-like, but we will leave that for you to watch.)

When it comes to actual events that get Ted closer to the Mother, it’s hard to really see any in this episode fsince it is themed around a different sort of major event. Plus, we imagine that much of the good Mother stuff is going to be saved for “How Your Mother Met Me,” the 200th episode airing a little bit later in the month.
