There’s some great news out there for some of you who have been eagerly anticipating the upcoming big-screen adaptation of “Ender’s Game” — one that has been anticipated for just about a decade at this point.
It has been announced that Hailee Steinfeld — the teen actress who captured many hearts courtesy of her work in “True Grit” — is going to be jumping on the Orson Scott Card adaptation. It appears as though Steinfeld will play the role of Petra Arkanian, who is the only female student Ender enlists in his army to take down the Buggers.
Asa Butterfield of “Hugo” fame has already been cast for the title character, and Gavin Hood (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) is on board as a writer and director.
Considering that this is a book that we have cherished since we first read it in school, expectations are more than a little bit high.
What do you think about Steinfeld’s casting?
