Box office results: ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ beating expectations

More domination.

It looks like in its second weekend in theaters, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” is doing better than most analysts at the box office ever expected.

Based on some of the current estimates, here is what we are looking at when it comes to grosses for the five-day Thanksgiving weekend.

1. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” ($61.3 million) – While this is a substantial drop from the opening, it is still a remarkable gross for a second weekend that will push the film well over $200 just in North America alone.

2. “The Muppets” ($42.5 million) – Considering that the movie only cost $45 million to make, this will be profitable rather fast. Thanks to rave reviews and a strong response from viewers, this movie is likely to hold up well.

3. “Happy Feet Two” ($17.5 million) – The penguins simply aren’t as strong in their second outing, but this is not terrible considering some of the competition.

4. “Arthur Christmas” ($16.5 million) – This holiday film also has some rave reviews, and like “The Muppets” expect “Arthur” to hold on well in the coming weeks.

Beyond this, it’s a bit close to call between “Hugo” (which is beating expectations) and Adam Sandler’s “Jack and Jill.”

What are you seeing this weekend?
