If you think back to last week’s elimination episode of “X Factor,” then you certainly remember what was one of the most bizarre meltdowns we have ever seen. So was the 15-year old rapper put in the same exact position again?
As it turns out, the kid got a reprieve. Thanks to a phenomenon that we like to call “the bottom two bump,” Astro’s fan base showed up and came through for him in a big way this week. Not only was he not in the bottom two, he wasn’t even in the bottom three during this double-elimination episode.
Does this necessarily mean that he is safe in the long run? Far from it — his fan base is young, and it’s always possible that they could disappear again later in the competition if they just forget to vote on one occasion.
As for the acts who actually went home this week, Lakoda Rayne went right away as a result of the double-elimination. The “bottom two” after this was Marcus Canty and LeRoy Bell, and we saw this time around the first-ever deadlock on the American version of the show. This meant that LeRoy went home, and Marcus is going to come back for another week.
Are you shocked that Astro is still in the competition?
