Monday night marked the first part of the “Dancing with the Stars” finale — and more often than not, the freestyle is the dance that can either make you or break you as a performer.
After getting a lower-than-expected 24 for his first routine, J.R. Martinez came back swinging with a dance that could end up helping to win him the Mirrorball Trophy on Tuesday. His biggest problem? Even with a perfect 30 for this routine, this was still only enough to tie him in second place with Ricki Lake for the evening.
Ultimately, here is where the stars stack up after their two routines.
1. Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke – 54 out of 60
2 (tie). J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff – 54 out of 60
2 (tie). Ricki Lake and Derek Hough – 54 out of 60
Who do you think is going to win?
