Mrs. Carter: Are you ready for the “Bachelor” wedding to just already? Le sigh.
While the new season featuring Juan Pablo Galavis more or less kicks off with a special inside look at the contestants Sunday night, the big wedding between Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici will be airing three weeks from then on Sunday, January 26. This is something that, even if you are not a diehard fan of the show, may still be interesting to watch. Why is that? Think along the lines of live television, where anything can happen (and it often does). Who wants to see drunk uncle Chester try to object or cousin Lola pull her dress over her head live on television? While that may or may not happen, getting the “live” aspect is something that “The Bachelor” rarely offers up (since it’s so unpredictable). Even the live “After the Final Rose” specials are so controlled by Chris Harrison and the audience. It’s harder to control emotional in-laws and speakers on the happiest days of a couple’s life together.
So what sort of progress is being made now towards getting this ceremony ready for Sean and Catherine to exchange their wedding vows? Based on a message from Catherine’s Twitter feed, the two are now definitely talking about getting the paper that makes this union legal… the marriage license:
“Looking into getting our marriage license today. It’s happening! #countdownlowedown”
In case you’re a newbie to Twitter or just haven’t been on for a while, Catherine has fully embraced this hashtag over the past couple of weeks. She and Sean have spoken pretty publicly about most of the planning process so far, and there have been camera crews present for at least some of it. (Therefore, it’s safe to say that there will be a few pre-taped elements here while we are waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle.)
We’re excited for this special to air, just as excited as we are to see what sort of ratings a “Bachelor” wedding special can draw when there are no photos or video footage out there of the couple together in their tux and dress beforehand. That has been the case with recent specials, and their performance has been more or less “meh.”
You can see the first photo from Sean and Catherine this year at the link here, and we’ll have much more on the wedding as it comes out! Also, be sure to sign up for some CarterMatt TV updates on Sean and Catherine, all things “Bachelor,” and some other top TV stories.
