‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ 2014: Pitbull (without Ke$ha), Robin Thicke, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis perform
“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” is one of the most electric shows of the entire year when it comes to getting big-name performers on board the show, and then delivering on making sure that everyone in attendance has one heck of a great time. The lineup this year was also one of the best that the show has ever had, and it includes everyone from Miley Cyrus to Pitbull to Blondie and many more. We’re going to have some highlights from these performances below leading up to what is one of the main events: The performance from Miley Cyrus. We’ll have more on that later.
Now, let’s talk about some of these performances.
Pitbull, “Don’t Stop the Party” and “Timber” – First of all, why couldn’t you get Ke$ha to appear in order to do the other part of “Timber”? One of the problems that Pitbull has when he performs live is that he does so many collaborations, it is hard for him to really get them all to work out live.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us” – A pair of fast, wonderful Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performances that remind you why they had such a breakout year. These are both good songs, but one of the major reasons for the duo’s success is because they are so fantastic live.
Robin Thicke, “Blurred Lines” – Robin’s New Year’s resolution is probably to not have to perform this song anymore. The guy has got to be exhausted with it at this point!
