James Durbin’s ‘Love Me Bad’ video — a perfect throwback?

Here’s this cover.

Remember when rock n’ roll music videos were about destroying stuff, performing with a band, and occasionally setting things on fire? If so, then you are probably going to love James Durbin’s new music video for “Love Me Bad.” It’s nostalgic in the same way as drinking hot cocoa on Christmas Eve … except with some rock guitar.

Out of all the “American Idol” season 10 videos we have seen thus far, James’ is by far the strongest visually — while some others (see Scotty McCreery) have tried more of a story, Durbin has much more of a pure visual compliment to the song.

James’ debut album “Memories of a Beautiful Disaster” is set to launch on November 21, so be sure to check it out in the midst of a rather crowded field of new releases next week.
