‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Paul Wesley, alum Torrey DeVitto officially divorced

What's ahead -Mrs. Carter: Paul and Torrey can officially move on.

After more than two years of marriage, “The Vampire Diaries” Paul Wesley and his wife Torrey DeVitto (who has appeared on the show along with “Pretty Little Liars” and “Army Wives”) made the decision to split; and now, the news coming out is that the divorce process is finally over. According to TMZ, the divorce is final and all major assets have been split up. Given that the two had a prenuptial agreement, this was not a particularly difficult process compared to some of the messier celebrity splits out there that cost millions of dollars in houses, children and assets. They each get at least one of the vehicles, as well as the money that they each put into their home. It’s nice to see that they were able to get out of this marriage fairly unscathed when it comes to splitting up the marital assets since it’s easy to fall into the trap where couples go 15 rounds over who gets the frying pan.

For a long time, Paul and Torrey were extremely private when it came to their relationship, to the point where he declined to talk about it even after their wedding took place in secret. But over time, he started to slowly become more open as the two did some charity events, and she eventually came on the CW show for a series of episodes as Dr. Meredith Fell.

Torrey DeVitto -Neither Paul nor Torrey seem to be taking their split especially hard. Torrey has already confirmed that she is in a relationship with pro surfer Carlos Munoz, and there have been engagement rumors that sparked over this picture recently. Meanwhile, rumors have linked Paul to former “Vampire Diaries” and current “Originals” star Phoebe Tonkin, but in true Wesley fashion, he’s not really saying anything. (Then again, there seems to be a “Vampire Diaries” tradition of private relationships; Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder dated for years without ever blabbing about it publicly.)

“The Vampire Diaries” returns with all-new episodes on Thursday, January 23, and if you click here, you can see a little bit more of what to expect when it comes to scoop.
