Adam Lambert’s radio numbers prove lasting presence

Greg Hernandez

It has been quite a while since we have done a post detailing some of Adam Lambert’s weekly radio airplay numbers — so now seems about as good of a time as any to update while we are waiting for some news on his upcoming sophomore album.

Per the latest numbers, here are where Adam’s two most-popular singles stand on U.S. airplay charts:

“Whataya Want From Me” – With 1,772 spins, this is easily Adam’s most-popular song at the moment on American radio (and it is the sixth most-popular song from any “American Idol” alum). You can truly tell the signs of a smash hit by how long they hang around the radio charts, and considering that this song has been around for a year and a half now, it certainly fits the bill.

“If I Had You” – No, the numbers for “If I Had you” (with 149 spins) are not nearly as high as its counterpart — but we can still celebrate the fact that the song is getting attention, and is an even bigger hit worldwide (especially in some places such as Canada and Europe) than it was Stateside.

While there have been a number of other songs that have been released internationally from “For Your Entertainment” (including “Fever” and “Sure Fire Winners”), they have not been released as singles stateside. “For Your Entertainment” was released prior to “WWFM,” but is no longer on the airplay chart.
