While Susan Boyle’s third album “Someone To Watch Over Me” may not have debuted at the top of the charts here in America (as that honor went to Justin Bieber’s “Under the Mistletoe”), it appears to be doing more than a little bit of a solid job selling copies overseas.
According to reports, “Someone” ended up starting with sales of 72,000 albums — which is down from the 100,000+ for her sophomore effort “The Gift.” Nonetheless, it was still enough to put her ahead of such other people as Michael Buble, Coldplay, and Florence + the Machine.
The other good news for Susan is that her albums do manage to have tremendous staying power. Both “The Gift” and her “I Dreamed a Dream” debut held strong throughout the holiday season, and there’s no reason to suspect that things would change this time around.
Are you happy for Susan with her #1 debut?
