‘Survivor: South Pacific’: Whitney Duncan’s ‘secret marriage’ revealed

After pretty much an entire season full of headlines all about men, a woman on “Survivor: South Pacific” is starting to get some attention … though not exactly for the reasons that she may like.

According to a report from People Magazine, Duncan has been “secretly married” to a fellow country singer named Donny Fallgatter since August 2010. The issue here? There really seems to be two:

1. She hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with her marital status on “Survivor.”

2. She’s now supposedly dating fellow contestant Keith Tollefson (as the two have been spotted together in Nashville on multiple occasions).

To be fair, we have heard rumblings about Whitney and Keith being together for weeks now, and the only part of this story that probably makes this newsworthy is that she was actually married when the two met. This of course throws an entirely different variable into her relationship with Keith — and also makes us wonder why she hid it to begin with. (Is it possible that she was afraid she wouldn’t be cast if she identified as married?)

You can say whatever you want about Whitney for her new relationship, but it’s really unfair to judge — we don’t know if she and Fallgatter were getting along before she left for the show, and we also don’t know why she ended up falling for Keith. While it’s not exactly the most favorable story for Whitney to have out there, being judgmental is certainly not the way to go.

What’s your reaction to this story?
