Katy Perry ages fast in ‘The One That Got Away’ music video

The video is here.

If you feel like crying on a Friday afternoon, then we may have the medicine for you — Katy Perry’s new music video for “The One That Got Away.” As much fun as Katy’s previous efforts from “Teenage Dream” have been (in particular “E.T.” and “Last Friday Night”), this video is to the same extent heartbreaking.

Katy stars as an elderly version of herself in the video, one looking back on a small moment that caused the man of her dreams to storm away before ultimately having his car fly off of a hill. It’s a story very much about regret, and it manages to be both emotional and simple at the same time. (For those curious, Diego Luna plays her love interest.)

The video was first unveiled by Katy herself during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday, and it could very well help the song rise up the charts. If it hits #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Teenage Dream” will be the first album ever with six #1 singles.
