‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: A tiny tease on Mariska Hargitay’s next big episode

Law & Order: SVU logoWhen “Law & Order: SVU” returns to NBC on Wednesday, January 8, it is going to be doing so with an episode that you may or may not have heard about already: “Psycho Therapist.” Basically, the show has decided for dramatic reasons that rather than just letting you into the second half of the season in an easy manner, they are instead going to make you go through something more emotional than any case that we’ve seen since the premiere: Watching Olivia Benson have to confront what is basically one of the hardest situations in her life yet again.

Lewis (Pablo Schreiber) is going to be back on the show since the early episodes of the season, but in a very different sort of capacity than we have seen so far. Basically, we’re going to have a chance to see her face off with this guy in the courtroom, and try to channel all of the emotions and see what the courtroom side of this story is going to be.

While it may not reveal too much, you can see the official synopsis below from NBC for at least a basic take on what this story will be:

“The trial of serial rapist William Lewis once again pits Benson against her attacker.”

Given that this is not a show that tends to do a heck of a lot of long-term story arcs, we imagine that whatever happens here will serve as some sort of closure for at least a little while. If anything, maybe it will be addressed at the end of the season; but personally, we’d like to see the show go in a different, less dramatic direction then.
