‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: More scoop on Candice Accola, Paul Wesley

While season 4 was all about Caroline and Klaus when it comes to fans of “The Vampire Diaries,” we have clearly noticed a little bit of a changing perspective this time around. Now, the new hot flavor appears to be trying if at all possible to relentlessly ship Caroline with Paul Wesley and his character of Stefan. We get it, at least in that the two have spent a ton of time together over the years, have a good friendship, and are at least both single thanks to some pretty crazy circumstances that have unfolded as of late.

But does all of this really constitute for being a good couple? That is something that we could leave up for debate for the time being. However, what we will tell you for now is this: It’s not going to happen in the immediate future. Rather, TV Guide reports that we are instead going to be seeing Candice Accola’s character with a different love interest other than Stefan. While producers are being coy on who this person will be, it’s pretty safe to rule out him, and we would assume that she and Tyler Lockwood would not be getting together again so soon.

As for Stefan, the most surprising bit of news to come out right now is that you’re going to be seeing him mostly with someone else for the episodes ahead: Katherine. They can at least relate to one another when it comes to some of what they have been through as of late. This is not a guarantee that their connection will necessarily be romantic by any means, but they will at least have some sort of connection that will be fascinating to watch unfold.
