ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: How Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic’s characters plan ahead

Castle and Beckett are getting married at some point on “Castle,” assuming of course that there is not some sort of tragic breakup that devastates fans and commences Twitter to collapse upon itself. But before that ceremony can happen, there are clearly some other things that need to be taken care of.

One such issue? Trying to figure out just when the wedding will take place. While that may not have been too much of a pressing concern on the show yet, creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells TV Guide that as we move forward into spring, finding the right time for the two characters to tie the knot will be imperative. Remember that while it’s certainly possible that there could be some sort of grand ceremony in the May sweeps, no one has ever come out and said that it’s happening. It would honestly not surprise us too much at all if it did not happen until this time next year, just to get people hooked on another season rather than to have the wedding to close season 6 and giving viewers a feeling that there is not another exciting event to see.

Also, Marlowe adds that Castle’s current place of residence could be an issue, at least when it comes to the way in which he has chosen some of the decor:

“Castle’s place is a very masculine bachelor pad, and Beckett is spending a lot of time over there. What changes does she want to make and how does Castle react to that? … [Also], is Beckett going to give up her rent-controlled loft? They’re on a trajectory, and we want to play out that trajectory instead of making huge proclamations. They’re just trying to find who they are in the relationship, and they both are very strong-willed.”

We have already seen a drawer’s worth of shared space, and that in itself was billed as a very important thing. Trying to move beyond that will be an especially big issue for these two. For the time being, though, there are some other cases to solve that could take some precedence for at least the next week or two. By the time the show does say goodbye to 2013, though, we do imagine that there will be at least another shocker or two handed down.
