‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, episode 6 preview: Who is Ursula? Plus, JoAnna Garcia’s Ariel!

Ariel -There is really quite a bit to look forward to on next week’s “Once Upon a Time” episode. Not only are we set to meet Ariel for the first time, but we are also set to learn the identity of one of the “Little Mermaid’s” most-notorious villains: Ursula.

What is the biggest surprise to us right now is that ABC just went completely out of their way to spoil in the promo that Lana Parrilla’s Regina is the famed underwater villain, in addition to being the Evil Queen that she is already. Just how many characters has she screwed over this season? First it was Tinker Bell, and now Ariel will be feeling her wrath.

What is also nice about this, though, is that there is a clear tie between Ariel and also Emilie de Ravin’s Belle, which is great news in that it finally gives her something to do. Through the first five episodes this year, literally all we have seen has been of her in little dream windows for Rumpelstiltskin. It’s nice to see that this is going to be changing in the near future. While we may not see Storybrooke this week, the seventh episode is supposed to really be all about what has been going on in the town since the start of the season, when Belle was left to take care of things with everyone else of note gone. This has also been an easy way to write out some other characters for the time being, including Red (Meghan Ory), who is no longer a series regular.

Granted, what we want to know now is when we are going to see some more of Robin Hood, Mulan, and Aurora based on what we saw of them two episodes ago. They give us so many cliffhangers and introduce the show’s first LGBT character, and then they just left that thread dangling. Sadness.
