‘The Blacklist’ episode 6 preview: James Spader and many surprises

The Blacklist logo any seasonHow does “The Blacklist” move forward from some of the shockers that took place on tonight’s episode “The Courier”? The simple answer here is that they just do, regardless of whether or not it is something that is rather difficult for them to take on. For Liz, after all, nothing could be harder than trying to figure out what in the world is really going on with her husband Tom.

However, the official synopsis for next week’s episode on NBC actually ends up spoiling much of the story of the episode (which is a little surprising for a synopsis), at least in that we are going to see Tom try to deny playing any role in some of the mess that he is accused of being a part of. This put Liz in a very difficult position once again as to who she can trust, and unfortunately the truth right now is that Red has actually been pretty honest with her. Why would you think that James Spader’s character would change now?

Check the description out in full below:

“After Tom (Ryan Eggold) confronts Liz (Megan Boone) about the box — he claims he’s innocent and insists that they turn it into the FBI so his name can be cleared. Elsewhere, Red (James Spader) informs Liz and the FBI that the next name on the Blacklist is beautiful and deadly corporate terrorist, Gina Zanetakos (guest star Margarita Levieva). “

The promo draws the second shocker here in that Red accuses Tom of using Gina as his lover. Given that the title of the episode is “Gina Zanetakos,” it’s clear that she has a pretty important role to play in proceedings, but is it really too much to ask to not have Tom be a cheater? Maybe we just want to really believe in this guy, but we just feel like the majority of primetime television at this point is interested in painting many married men out to be cheaters. What about the faithful husbands? Being faithful on TV these days is rare and is therefore (to us) a heck of a lot more interesting then the same old cheating husband story that is played out.

Expect this to not only be action-packed, but also the most-relevant episode of “The Blacklist” yet to the overall story.
