In this week’s look at the Billboard Hot 100, we can say one thing with a good bit of confidence — Adele is going to be ruling this chart for a little while.
For the second straight week, the singer’s hit “Someone Like You” managed to throttle the competition and stay strong at the top of the popular music chart. Meanwhile, previous #1 “Moves Like Jagger” also did its job and stayed at #2.
When it comes to some of the movers and shakers, there were not necessarily any major surprises at all in the top 10. Rihanna’s “We Found Love” slid up two placed to #7 this week, and LMFAO could be the next major contender for the top crown with their new hit.
One interesting thing to note this week — despite having one of the biggest hits arguably of the entire year, Foster the People is probably never going to reach #1 with their single “Pumped Up Kicks.” Most people who want to download the song already have, and “Someone Like You” is gaining airplay at a much faster rate.
Check back next week for an update yet again on music’s most important chart!
