‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2, episode 2 preview: What comes next for Cat, Vincent

The latest -At the end of last night’s “Beauty and the Beast” premiere, the good news for fans of Cat and Vincent was that the couple kissed, proving that there was still some of the same love and chemistry there that we saw during season 1. The bad news? That Vincent seems to be more of a mindless beast-soldier now, and has no recollection of who he is or the journey that he had with Cat following his capture. This means that Cat’s mission is two-sided: Not only does she have to protect him, but she also has to find a way to get him to remember again.

Next Monday, it feels more like she is the one that needs to be protected more so than him. The episode is called “Kidnapped,” and after reading the synopsis below from The CW, it shouldn’t take you any longer than a single second in order to figure out just why that is:

“While attempting to learn more about Vincent’s (Jay Ryan) mission, Cat (Kristin Kreuk) gets kidnapped by Vincent. Their growing chemistry complicates his mission. Meanwhile, Tess (Nina Lisandrello), J.T. (Austin Basis) and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) come together to help Cat.”

You get a little bit of a sense of that in the promo below for the episode, but let’s not sit here and actually pretend like it really reveals that much at all. Instead, what we have here courtesy of the network is something that gets you psyched up, and right when you start to think that you’re going to be something spectacular, the promo ends. Why does a good five or six seconds of these promos have to be an elaborate title sequence? Then again, a short promo is better than no promo at all.
