‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: No plans for Matthew Perry return … for now
When you look at the long list of folks that you would want to see return to “The Good Wife” for season 5, Matthew Perry would have to be somewhere near the top of it. At this point, we genuinely feel like the former “Friends” star is better suited for drama than comedy, and his take on Mike Kresteva was pretty brilliant. Unfortunately, “Go On” limited his guest-star potential last year, and at the moment there is no plan for him to return … at all.
Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Robert King says that for the time being, there are no plans for Perry to be back on the show; however, it is something that they are very much interested in doing if the right opportunity arrives.
As of right now, the status of Perry’s future projects is unclear. The last few pilots that he has been associated with (“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Go On”) all failed to last longer than a season, and were it not for Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox, launching some new projects, you could say that the “Friends” curse was very much intact. The guy’s a big talent, though, so here is to hoping that he finds another big hit to stand behind soon enough. (Personally, we’d be game for a Kresteva spin-off, though we realize that the “Good Wife” ratings are not good enough to really make that happen.)

Matthew Perry is always enjoyable in whatever he does, whether it is drama or comedy, so of course I would like to see him guest in the Good Wife, which is a good show, or even better in a dramatic movie role.

Definitely, I would like to see his talent shine in the Good Wife, or in any other project.
