Bruce Jenner of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ talks skin cancer for first time

Keeping Up with the KardashiansWe tend to stay away from most of the Kardashian hoopla for the vast majority of the time, but since this revolves around an issue that is a little bit different than tabloid rumors or someone “flaunting” something on the red carpet (who else cringes when you see those headlines?), it is worth reporting.

In response to some reports that have been floating around in the past 48 hours suggesting that he may be battling a form of skin cancer, Bruce Jenner has spoken out for the first time about the diagnosis and what he is doing to treat it. It’s rather interesting in a way that a family that is famous, whether it be on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” or otherwise, for sharing everything has managed to keep something private. It may say something about Jenner feels about a few aspects of his own life.

Naturally, though, Bruce did decide to share his first comments about battling the disease to E!, which happens to also be the same network that broadcasts any and all Kardashian-related shows:

“I have been struggling with this for several years and appreciate all of the support and prayers while I continue to fight the battle against skin cancer. This has taught me to be extra vigilant when out in the sun and I encourage others to get regular checkups and always wear sunscreen.”

Jenner seems to be on the mend, so there is no immediate need to worry about him or his well-being in any way at the moment. At least he also did use part of his statement to try and give out some advice, especially since it’s something that tends to get lost when you think about California and spending all of that time in the sun.

Of course, we will have more on this story as it breaks.
