2013 VMAs: Adam Lambert, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez among presenters with TV ties

The announcement -While you have definitely heard quite a bit of news as of late about the performers for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, but what about the presenters? That is something that we’re hoping to fill you in on now.

Our goal here is to point out some of the famous names that you have come to know thanks to the magic of television. After all, it gives a little bit more shape to their journey, as we saw many of them during the early stages of stardom … or at least this is when we discovered them for the first time. It’s a little bit of a different experience than hearing someone on the radio before seeing them on TV, as your first memory of them is strictly voice-only.

Adam Lambert – Was performing in various productions for years before “American Idol,” but the show / hard work after it helped to turn him into a worldwide star. (Booking confirmed via THR.)

Selena Gomez – Got her start on “Barney & Friends” before crossing over to “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and then ultimately diving strictly into feature films and music work.

Kevin Hart – A comic who has done several standup specials, hosted “Saturday Night Live,” and has done countless hosting gigs for MTV and BET. Clearly, he’s the most TV-omnipresent person of the bunch.

One Direction – Were formed on “The X Factor” UK, and exploded following their release of “What Makes You Beautiful” into worldwide superstars and teen idols.

Ariana Grande – Presenting before the show; but still, she’s a part of the list. She was best known for “Victorious” before starting a music career, and she is also the star now of Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat.”

Want to play this game with the performers, too? Here’s what you got:

Lady Gaga – Made a tiny cameo on “The Sopranos” years before she was a star.

Miley Cyrus – Former star of “Hannah Montana,” which remains one of the Disney Channel’s most-successful shows ever.

Justin Timberlake – Former member of “The Mickey Mouse Club” alongside Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

Drake – Was known in Canada for “Degrassi” before coming into his own as a rapper.

Robin Thicke – Was a judge on ABC’s pretty awful reality show “Duets” alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles.
