‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Grant Gustin, NeNe Leakes both poised to return

He's back -For those of you who love some “Glee” familiar faces, you’ll be pleased to know that the recurring cast is going to feel very familiar to you for at least the first few weeks of the Fox musical.

For one, Grant Gustin is back as Sebastian! The character was at one point one of the nastiest people in the show’s universe, and helped to lead the Warblers at a time when some very underhanded stuff was going on. He tried to steal Blaine, and he also ended up throwing a slushie laced with rocks at his face, even though it was intended for Kurt. Gustin has been spotted on the show’s set sporting his Warbler uniform, which is a little bit more evidence that this ever-popular group will be back, despite them not being in the competition season anymore following their performance-enhancing drugs scandal. (Seriously.)

Also, there is going to be more of Coach Roz Washington! NeNe Leakes tweeted out that she is reading a script for an upcoming episode, which is good from the standpoint of seeing some more familiar faces at McKinley High. Last season, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s appearances were fairly limited thanks to her filming NBC’s “The New Normal,” but given that this show is no longer on the schedule, she should be open almost anytime that Ryan Murphy calls on her to show up. Our hope is that she’ll be around for at least three or four episodes, given that a little bit of Roz goes a long way, and we know that the plan here eventually is to shift out of the high school environment.

The season 5 premiere (airing on September 23) is a tribute to the Beatles, and Amber Riley has also confirmed already that she will be reprising her role as Mercedes on the show. With the Cory Monteith tribute episode coming soon, we expect that there will be some more familiar faces as the show reflects over the next couple of weeks.
