ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: Show boss promises less complicated plot

Did you feel like the story for “Revenge” season 3 was a little bit too complicated? You’re not the only one. In between Aiden, the Initiative, and a variety of other stories that were hard to really comprehend, the show is going to undergo a slight change of direction moving forward.

Speaking at the ABC – TCA press event on Sunday, president Paul Lee promised a story that is going to be much more simplified, and it will start from the premiere which has been described as “fantastic,” and contains a great hook that will keep people excited about the story that is coming up. Just in the first episode alone, we have the possibility of seeing Ashley Davenport’s exit, and also the revelation of just what Jack is going to do after learning all about Emily Thorne.

If there is one thing that should serve as all of the evidence “Revenge” needs that parts of season 3 didn’t work, just look at the ratings. The show struggled to keep a consistent audience following the February sweeps, and it wasn’t just because ABC tossed it around on the schedule like a rag doll. If the show cannot turn it around this year, we could be seeing this show come to a close far earlier than we first imagined after a first season that was both a critical and a commercial hit.
