‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 at Comic-Con: Johnny Galecki and other surprises

Big Bang Theory

Usually, “The Big Bang Theory” is one of Comic-Con’s biggest attractions, but this time around, the event was at least somewhat more muted for one particular reason: The show’s stars were not announced to be in attendance. In a way, we were somewhat interested to see what would happen here given that the writers and producers are the real geeks at the center of this show, and they could have some very interesting things to say about their time filming it.

Were we disappointed at all in the end? Far from it. For one, Stephen Hawking introduced the theme song for the show (which you can see below) as well as the panel, and proved in the process that he has a great sense of humor. There was also a clip of season 6 highlights shown off for the fans, and some interesting behind-the-scenes details, including heated arguments of episodes such as the letter from Howard’s father, and the future of Amy and Sheldon as a couple.

One interesting season 7 scoop came from executive producer Steve Molaro, who explained that the show is considering an episode where you get to see Raj’s parents in person rather than just over Skype, which would be a nice twist for a show that has enough other parent mysteries and quirks that there is no need to also make one out of these two.

There was also a welcome surprise when it comes to one of the cast members. As you can see in the picture here, Johnny Galecki surprised everyone after standing in line dressed as Princess Leia’s Bounty Hunter from “Star Wars.” This along made us have an infinite amount more respect for Johnny Galecki, who has always been one of the more quiet and private members of the cast away from the show.
