Claire DanesMrs. Carter: Claire Danes is putting the “home” back in “Homeland”!

Even though the actress is hard at work on the much-anticipated third season of the critically-acclaimed Showtime series, she is making it nonetheless rather clear that family is important to her. In between takes while on the show’s North Carolina set, she is reportedly taking the time to bond with her young son Cyrus, likely knowing that the best way to bond with her child is to do so at a very early age. Claire gave birth to him over the course of the holiday season, and she filmed the vast majority of the second season while expecting. (It was thanks to some post-production and camera tricks that her pregnancy was not obvious in any individual scenes.)

While Danes surely enjoys her time being a mom, let’s just hope that she is just as excited to work as always, given that her workload is certainly not going to be slowing down at all during season 3. As a matter of fact, the absence of Damian Lewis’ Brody from at least the early part of the season (if not the whole thing) on American soil could mean that she has to take over even more scenes, and this show is also demanding when it comes to the gamut of emotions that you are pretty much required to dish out on a daily basis.

“Homeland” season 3 will premiere on Showtime this September, though filming will continue beyond that until the later part of the fall.
