‘Elementary’ season 2 spoilers: Moving beyond the premiere
As you may have read now via either our previous article or some others written over the course of the past several days, “Elementary” season 2 is currently hard at work at launching its premiere episode in London. But what comes next after this? Do the characters remain in Great Britain for some time, or transfer back quickly to New York City? While not all of these answers may be clear, we do at least offer some speculation beyond this first installment of TV back this fall.
According to a new report from SpoilerTV, the second episode of the CBS series is going to be entitled “Ancient History,” which to put on our own Sherlock Holmes cap, could mean a number of different things.
1. Maybe Sherlock is staying in London for at least another week, and trying to navigate some long-forgotten layers of his past.
2. Maybe Holmes and Watson are investigating a history museum death. (We blame the attractions coming to life, like in the Ben Stiller flick.)
3. Maybe Holmes and Watson take on a case that is about a dead man trying to recreate the storyline of Nicolas Cage’s “National Treasure.”
Regardless of the general plot, we imagine that this will be more of the stabilizing episode to get “Elementary” going to what it truly hopes to be for the vast majority of its season. Given that CBS likes is dramas a little bit more procedural, we will not be shocked at all to see more of a case-of-the-week format form here with some occasional allusions to a larger case thrown in for good measure.
