‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Show bosses talk Theon, Danaerys story arcs

Somehow, there is still more to say about the “Game of Thrones” finale two days after the fact. We’re rather grateful there is, and this may be a testament to how strong HBO’s fantasy epic really is. Even after touching on Arya and some other characters rather extensively, it’s a thrill to know that there is so much more still to come.

With that in mind, we hand to you the new video courtesy of the network below, where executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss helped to set the stage for the final ahead by taking you through all of the major events that transpired through the season 3 finale, including some of the following major points:

1. The evolution of the relationship between Tywin and Tyrion Lannister, and why we are still very much poised to see more tension unfold between these two in the future now that we know the full extent of Tywin’s hatred towards his son.

2. How Theon Greyjoy basically goes from being a nobleman and member of a wealthy famous to “Reek,” the tortured man without a few specified body parts courtesy of the sadistic Ramsay Snow.

3. The transition of Danaerys Targeryan this season from a charismatic woman without an army to a great liberator with thousands ready to bow at her feet. There’s still uncertainty (at least from viewers’ part who have not read the books) about what is next for her. How does she really get over to Westeros with this many people? Sadly, neither of the producers really do much to elaborate on that.

One other thing that you should keep in mind all summer is that there are going to be some interesting situations to map out as the show ages, including production shifts, actors to negotiate with, and also the issue of whether or not the shows will catch up with the books.
