‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: When the writing process begins

The Vampire DiariesWhile there may not be much in the way of actual “Vampire Diaries” story scoop out there, there is a reason for that. There is not a single script complete at the moment for season 5. However, we’ve got something new for you here nonetheless rather than rehashing the same stuff over and over again. When are the writers going to be back at to work for the new season?

Here’s the answer: Today! In a post on Twitter Monday, executive producer, showrunner, and the busiest person on the planet Julie Plec (who now has three separate series all on the air) confirmed that today marks the official beginning of the process with some of the writers.

For those interested in finding out a little bit more about the process, one of the earliest things that the writers all work together on is establishing a story for the overall season (or at least an arc of around 10-13 episodes), and then figuring out just where everything fits into place. This strategy is a way in which to ensure that there are overall ideas put into place before individual scripts, that way there is not some sort of need after the fact to alter or change things up beyond just some minor shifts here and there. The entire environment is really rather collaborative, and while specific people may write drafts of each scripts, they often go through a number of rewrites and even suggestions from the network before making it to the air. This is why the writers’ room starts off so early, good work takes time.

In moving away from the show itself, do you want to read some news related to Ian Somerhalder? If so, they best way to do so is over at the link here.
