‘American Idol’ notes: Lee DeWyze’s album date; Kree Harrison’s acoustic performance
Big news for all Lee DeWyze fans out there: There is now some more information as to when the former “American Idol” champ’s next album is going to be available in stores.
In a post on his Twitter page, Lee confirmed that the date for the still-untitled disc is going to be August 20, meaning that you do still have a little bit of time to wait. Luckily, there is a gift available to help tide you over. If you visit his official site, there is an option to score a free download of an acoustic version of “Silver Lining,” which is the lead single off of the disc. We’ve already picked our copy up, and we strongly suggest that you do the same to temporarily get your Lee fix.
More acoustic news – While this is not about Lee, it’s still worth pointing out now that Kree Harrison performed a stripped-down version of her new single “All Cried Out” on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” on Tuesday morning. This is her first morning-show performance since finishing the show, and it marks yet another opportunity for her to get her name out there to an audience that may not be that familiar with her music already. One of our other favorite parts of these “Live!” performances is simply seeing how tiny Michael Strahan makes everyone else look.
For fans of Angie Miller, it’s worth noting now that she is going to be a guest on the show tomorrow, where we suppose she will probably perform “You Set Me Free” to get people excited about that release.

Lee is coming out with a new album?? I thought he gave up on his career as “Lee Dewyze-Singer/Songwriter” and decided to make his career “Lee & Jonna”. LOL!!

Well i can’t wait for Lees album i’ve loved all his songs pre and post iDol! I have heard some of the songs on this New CD at a concert and just LOVE them. Yep i flew 8,000 Miles he’s that good. I hope it all goes well for him because he’s such a real down to earth guy and deserves to have a breakthorough. I’m a HUGE AUSTRALIAN Fan. Lee AUssies will LOVE you, we love real raw talent. So excited for Lee’s album release!!! I’ve heard many of his new songs live and they all are sooooooo good! Matt didn’t mention but the official Single version of Silver Lining is available now on iTunes and Amazon so check it out! I love both versions – I honestly can’t decide which one I like better

I’ve been waiting for sooo long and so excited for Lee DeWyze new album. Glad that finally we have the release date. I believe it’s gonna be amazing, becoz he is a very talented singer/songwriter. He’s been working so hard and put all his heart for this new album. Can’t wait for August 20th!!!! This new album is genuinely Lee DeWyze music. OriginalLEE!!

I’ll be glad when Lee’s new album comes out and he (or his fans) can stop blaming Idol and RCA and coronation songs for his lack of success thus far. Don’t get me wrong, I hope the album does well, he’s talented, but this one is all on him. Sink or swim, I’m interested to see what happens with his career without all the other “factors”.

I thank iDol for having LEE i have found a singer i just love and his music really makes me happy. Lee is always appreciative as are his fans of all the support. I just can’t see how anyone can disslike him at all. Apart from his amazing lyrics and singing he’s truely a humble amazing young man. Spent a whole evening after his concert giving me time with his wife and close friends. WHo does that! I hope your rooting for his success.

I’m glad we finally have a release date for Lee’s next album! He has put a lot of time and hard work into this album and from what I’ve heard so far, we’re in for a treat. I love each of the new singles Lee’s performed lately, but I bet I’ll love the others just as much or more! Can’t wait for August 20th.
P.S. That acoustic version of Silver Lining is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!
