‘American Idol’ notes: Lee DeWyze’s album date; Kree Harrison’s acoustic performance

American IdolBig news for all Lee DeWyze fans out there: There is now some more information as to when the former “American Idol” champ’s next album is going to be available in stores.

In a post on his Twitter page, Lee confirmed that the date for the still-untitled disc is going to be August 20, meaning that you do still have a little bit of time to wait. Luckily, there is a gift available to help tide you over. If you visit his official site, there is an option to score a free download of an acoustic version of “Silver Lining,” which is the lead single off of the disc. We’ve already picked our copy up, and we strongly suggest that you do the same to temporarily get your Lee fix.

More acoustic news – While this is not about Lee, it’s still worth pointing out now that Kree Harrison performed a stripped-down version of her new single “All Cried Out” on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” on Tuesday morning. This is her first morning-show performance since finishing the show, and it marks yet another opportunity for her to get her name out there to an audience that may not be that familiar with her music already. One of our other favorite parts of these “Live!” performances is simply seeing how tiny Michael Strahan makes everyone else look.

For fans of Angie Miller, it’s worth noting now that she is going to be a guest on the show tomorrow, where we suppose she will probably perform “You Set Me Free” to get people excited about that release.

If you want to read even more “American Idol” news, including some ways in which the show should change things around before season 13 starts, we’ve written about it over at the link here.
