TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 3 spoilers: Patrick Duffy on chances; what we expect

DallasAre we going to see a “Dallas” season 3? It almost seems painful to ask the question so quickly after the last season came to an end, but this is what we are looking to figure out now.

When you look at the ratings, the odds of the show returning are a toss-up at best. It fell pretty sharply from season 1, and there is also a pretty hefty cast that you have to pay for here. The show likely does fare well when it comes to DVR viewing, which may be a key indicator to TNT that there are a good many people still wanting to watch the show. The issue? It was scheduled this year in the winter rather than the summer, which helped it fare pretty well against a significantly smaller amount of competition.

So how does one of the stars feel? Speaking to TV Guide, Patrick Duffy said that he is keeping optimistic, and hopes that the quality of the work done will play some sort of role in the network’s decision:

“I’m optimistic about a season three … But only based on the fact that I don’t believe that the directors, writers and actors and that every other person involved in making Dallas could make a better television show called Dallas.”

If the show does continue, we have a feeling that one of the main focuses will be on Bobby moving forward without J.R., and what in the world is going to happen to John Ross and Pamela now that there were some more-than-questionable decisions made in the finale.
