ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2, episode 18 preview: Victoria Grayson’s welcoming

Even though “Once Upon a Time” may be a repeat on Sunday night, for whatever reason ABC is opting to still air a new episode of “Revenge” entitled “Masquerade.” While the clip below does not really give us much insight into what exactly is going to happen during this hour, we do at least have yet another reminder that this Halloween-themed episode is going to be somewhat different than anything we’ve seen before.

The basic concept of the masquerade ball is simple, as Victoria Grayson tells her party guests that this is an opportunity for intrigue and mystery, and for people to leave their true identities at the door for a night (or, in the case of Emily Thorne, the past two seasons). Does anyone else feel like Madeleine Stowe’s speech here is somehow reminiscent of what Michael Scott on “The Office” said back during the “Casino Night” episode while welcoming everyone to the event. The only difference here is that there aren’t any glowsticks.

Given that there are only four more episodes airing this season after this one, we have to imagine that whatever happens at this ball will allow for some pretty juicy drama moving forward, as there certainly is a lot to uncover. Emily is in deep yet again with her plot to take down the family, and Eli James may have even helped her out for a bit before he made the move to leave town. She also has Jack working from inside of the family, and Nolan doing whatever he can to balance out taking out these two to dealing with the Initiative.
