‘America’s Got Talent’: NBC says Rosie O’Donnell a no-go as judge

America's Got TalentSorry, fans of Rosie O’Donnell: it now looks like you are not going to be seeing the entertainer and former OWN talk-show host making the jump over to “America’s Got Talent” at any point in the near future.

Following some rather interesting tabloid rumors (including some claims from Rosie herself) that she was interested in replacing the departing Sharon Osbourne, and that her former foe-turned-friend Howard Stern was endorsing her for the gig, a source from NBC tells Deadline that the show has no plans to ask her to be a judge on the upcoming season set to air this coming summer.

Considering that Rosie’s last show was a ratings flop, and that she is in unpopular among many in the country, we can hardly say that we are surprised at all by this news. However, there was also a part of us that thought she would be pretty good at the job if given the chance. She’s surely opinionated, and she knows what it takes to have a dream and to work hard in order to turn it into a reality. She also already has a rapport with Howard, so there is less time needed to build up chemistry.

Unfortunately, this just looks as though it was not meant to be for the show or for Rosie, and hopefully NBC has another possible judge lined up who is entertaining and can also provide honest feedback against two strong personalities. At one point the name LeAnn Rimes was thrown around, but we doubt this now after the great “X Factor” debacle.

Are you happy or sad that Rosie won’t be around on the show? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can check out some more “America’s Got Talent” judging rumors over at the link here.
