‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’: Sugar Bear suffers minor health scare

Honey Boo BooThanks to the TLC series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” reality TV fans around the world are now familiar with Alana Thompson and her family, and her dad Mike (otherwise known as “Sugar Bear”) is clearly one of the most-popular characters.

However, before this family was well-known to all of America, they were a fixture in their local McIntyre, Georgia community when it came to giving back. According to a report from E! News, an ambulance was called this weekend while working in a local toy drive (which he does annually along with much of his family). Here is what a source who was present at the event had to say per the website:

“Usually you’re allowed to sit on Sugar Bear’s lap … But he was not feeling well…they were worried his blood pressure was getting high.

“An ambulance was called to the house, but he was not taken off in it, [he] just got checked out by paramedics.”

This has been a rough far for Sugar Bear, who was hospitalized for several weeks earlier this year after a brutal accident while driving around in the mud in his ATV (a common activity for many people in the area). “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” was already renewed for a second season along with many holiday specials, and the family has spent some time this fall working to film their latest collection episodes to air next year.

Do you think that the “Honey Boo Boo” phenomenon is already dying down, or are we looking at something that is in your eyes as strong as ever? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can check out Alana’s recent (and rather uncomfortable) interview from “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” over at the link here.
