‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: The latest from the Iceland set

Admittedly, it is difficult at the moment to extract too much information from the actual “Game of Thrones” season 3 set in Iceland. The producers and actors are in a remote location, and it is rather different trying to extract information from this location compared to some other places like Morocco and Dubrovnik, Croatia, where there are frequent camera crews in addition to some tech-savvy locals.

However, we do still have a few more details worth sharing (to go along with what we published earlier this week) courtesy of the local media. For one example of this, one local publication is currently saying that there are in total 270 people working at various areas in the northern part of the country, and that filming will conclude around the 24th and 25th of the month. If this is true, you have to give a massive amount of credit to the producers for being efficient. They are dealing with short days to begin with thanks to their geographic location, and if you factor in the snow and the cold temperatures, these are not the sort of prudent conditions to successfully film a show within the span of a week.

There is some disputing the number of workers present in the country, as another report tallies the number at 200. Regardless, a manager of a local hotel in the Lake Mývatn region told a publication that November is typically a slow month for his business, but that the production has led to full rooms and a great deal of money coming in. With all of this in mind, you have to believe that this region will do everything in their power to accommodate production again in the near future.
