‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Who wants some Hodor scoop?

Even though Hodor may not be one of the main characters on “Game of Thrones,” the character is still a fan favorite for the George R.R. Martin books as well as the show. He took off at the end of season 2 in a small party with Bran Stark in tow, and season 3 is going to continue their journey as they try to seek refuge with Jon Snow Beyond the Wall … or at least this is going to be their goal during the early stages of the season.

So what is really going to happen here? This is something that Kristian Nairn, who plays the character on the series, was coy about in a new Hypable podcast. He did confirm that he and his party are done filming for the season, and that there will be more of Hodor this time around both in action and with him uttering his own name.

One especially fascinating part of this interview from our perspective was when Nairn claimed that he has asked George R.R. Martin why he says “Hodor” so often when it is not his birth name, but that the author declined to tell him. The actor is luckily not too upset over it, knowing that HBO is vary wary of having major spoilers out there for fans of the series, especially something from the book series that has yet to even be published … let alone something that is going from book to screen.

Overall, this is a great podcast to listen to if you are a fan of Hodor, as Nairn also explains a personal theory as to where the character could come from that is rather interesting.
