‘The Bachelorette’: Could Cheryl Burke be Emily Maynard’s heir apparent?

Cheryl Burke has made a name for herself wearing revealing outfits and putting on dancing shoes; could she be replacing this soon with wearing cocktail dresses and handing out roses? Considering what the popular “Dancing with the Stars” pro is currently saying now, it is very well possible.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with E! News, Burke, who is paired this season with her season 3 champion Emmitt Smith, did her best to explain that she is already looking at the next phase of her life after being on over a dozen seasons of the ballroom competition, and appearing on “The Bachelorette” this coming season could be very well one of her prime opportunities to show off a different side of herself:

“I have met with the producers of The Bachelorette and I also have met with ABC producers and development executives, just to develop other shows,” Cheryl told me over the phone from Dallas, where she is rehearsing for DWTS. “I realize that Dancing won’t be on air forever. I’m taking this opportunity now to develop shows. I met with different high-powered producers, companies and networks about possibly doing new shows, and The Bachelorette happened to be one of them.”

Could this actually happen? First and foremost, we must reiterate that this is still incredibly early in the casting process. No firm decisions have been made on anything related to the show just yet, and probably will not be made until we get a little bit closer to the series starting to film come the spring. Someone from Sean Lowe’s season of “The Bachelor” (which is currently filming) could resonate with viewers, and they could end up becoming the likely favorite instead. On the other hand, it’s also possible that Burke (who has been interested in doing the show before) could find someone she is interested in over the coming months.

For now, do you think that Cheryl would be a good fit to follow up someone very different from herself in Emily Maynard?
