‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Adam Lambert, David Archuleta

We’re a little late with our “American Idol” notes for Thursday, but trust us in that this is very much worth the wait. Not only do we have some really great scoop on Jessica Sanchez’s upcoming debut album, but a major TV gig for Adam Lambert.

Jessica’s single release will be … Sadly, a little later than expected. Early indications were that the reigning runner-up on the show would have a debut disc in stores at some point in December, but now she is saying that it is going to be early next year before we even hear her debut single.

Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sanchez proclaimed that her first single is going to be coming out presumably in January, and that we could be seeing an album release in March or April. From one standpoint, the good news here is that this release is going to come at the same time “American Idol” is on, which gives her a plethora of opportunities to promote it on a results show or two. The bad news? She now has to rely more on longtime fans of the show rather than the holiday shopping season. While there were three contestants from season 10 who had an album out by the time the holidays were upon us last year, Phillip Phillips will be the only one this year.

Adam Lambert’s big announcement – Adam is starting to expand some of his skills, and this includes becoming more than just a singer. As a matter of fact, he is about to become a host.

On December 16, the season 8 star is going to be hosted the annual VH1 Divas even at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which will include performances from himself, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and many more. The entire event is meant as a way to tribute Donna Summer in addition to Whitney Houston, two legends that passed in the past year.

Here is what Adam had to say in a statement:

“I’m so thrilled to be hosting VH1 Divas this year … I have a feeling it’s going to be the most fabulous concert of the year! And LIVE!! Get ready for some amazing performances, killer fashion and fierce divas!”

Something news from David Archuleta – Thanks to his Mormon mission, we are not getting many opportunities at the moment to get new content from David. However, you have to give some serious credit to his management team for finding a way to release new music still … including this “Rainbow” remix that is going to be a part of an upcoming special edition of “Forevermore” that will be released in the Philippines in the near future. Enjoy!
