‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Joe Manganiello packs it on

Just in case you wanted to find out just a little bit more about Joe Manganiello’s upcoming appearance on “How I Met Your Mother,” there is one thing that you should know: he is going to be showing off a far different shape for himself than you have imagined in a beer belly. No, this is not going to be the same sort of Alcide Herveaux that you have seen on “True Blood” over the past few seasons.

So what does one of the show’s actors in Jason Segel have to say about all this? In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor chose to have a laugh about the fact that the famously-chisened

“Just knowing that Joe has that crazy body underneath that fake gut that we put on him — it’s just hilarious to me. He has no sense of vanity despite having every right to have one.”

Manganiello will be making his grand return to the show as Brad, the former law school buddy of Segel’s Marshall who is going to be facing off against him in court in a really interesting way. What works well about this is that Brad not only represents a stepping stone for Marshall’s future as a lawyer, but also a major blast from the show’s past. If this is the last season of the show (which is rumored), this is going to be more important than ever.

Sadly, this episode will be coming a week later than originally planned after Hurricane Sandy ended up leading to a preemption from the show last week. Nonetheless, we will have more coverage of the show soon.
