‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Daario, Missandei

Thanks to “Game of Thrones” continuing to shoot in Morocco, and the Twitter account of one of members of the Unsullied in Rickard Nordstrand, we finally have a first look at something that many fans have been waiting to see for months now: photos of two of the more prominent new characters featured in Daenerys Targeryan’s storyline for the new season.

The image to the left perfectly shows Nordstrand alongside the characters of Daario and Missandei, who are played by actors Ed Skrein and Nathalie Emmanuel. Skrein is well-known as a musician for Plan B, but his character here (for those who are unfamiliar with the books) is a well-known sellsword in the region. Meanwhile, Emmanuel’s character is going to be a warrior all her own. (She was one of the larger castings first announced at Comic-Con this past summer.)

It’s unclear at the moment how many episodes these two will appear in, but we ultimately see Dany’s storyline as having the same scope as the first two seasons. In other words, she will be around for the majority of the episodes, even if her story is pretty broke off from what the Starks or the Lannisters are doing for the time being. Sooner or later, you do know that these forces are going to have to collide.

Following Morocco, the only filming left to do for the series will take place in the bitter cold of Iceland, where the show will work through some high winds and short days in order to bring more footage when it comes to the world of Jon Snow Beyond the Wall.

Season 3 of “Game of Thrones” premieres on HBO on Sunday, March 31, and of course we’ll have more developments from Westeros until that time.
