‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Melissa Benoist on Marley, Jake, and new character Ryder

How many love triangles can there be for one character on “Glee”? We’re starting to really find out here. First, we saw Melissa Benoist’s Marley be stuck on the outside looking in on a relationship between Jake Puckerman (Jacob Artist) and Kitty (Becca Tobin), but the good news for her now is that these two parties have gone their separate ways. However, the twist here now is that she has the interest of two boys moving forward in Jake along with football star Ryder Lynn (Blake Jenner), who is going to first appear in the episode airing next Thursday.

So what does Benoist have to say about all of this? In a new interview with E! News, all the actress will confirm is that there are going to be some sparks that fly with these boys very soon:

“Right now, she’s in the middle of two separate love triangles. She’s got some great choices. She meets Ryder, [played by] Blake Jenner, in episode five and there’s definitely some chemistry there. But Jake Puckerman … I think Marley has a special place in her heart for him … There are some love scenes. I’ve kissed someone. That’s all I’ll say,”

Just for the sake of longevity, Jake is probably going to be the preferred choice in that he has been on the show longer already, and it’s almost not clear how long Jenner will stick around. Winning “The Glee Project” only guarantees him seven episodes; and even though Samuel Larsen is still around and Damian McGinty had more time last year, neither one of them have been given particularly much to do.
